The 2009/10 trotting season wrapped up in thrilling fashion with the Breeders Crown Finals run over the last weeks of August, but it has left plenty of trotting fans anxiously awaiting the new season in September. The first feature race of 2010/11 is still a few days away, but there will be some lower stakes trotting taking place at Tabcorp Park this Friday, September 3. Mixed among the pacing Battle of the Claimers is the Graham S Mulhall & Co Trotters Handicap.
The race will be number two on the card and is slated to run at 7:12pm. It is a T5 or better discretionary handicap over a 2,760 metre distance. It offers $5,000 in prize money. While it is a smaller race, it is worth checking out as it has drawn a decent field of trotters. Plenty of punters will be looking to Trottn On The Ritz to take out the win as the Daryl Douglas-driven gelding has amassed seven first place finishes over 20 starts. He is also sitting in prime position for a strong start in barrier number two.
Plenty will be looking to Wrath of Rosie (barrier ten) to put up some stiff competition. The filly took an impressive nine first place finishes last season in Australia as well as two seconds and two in third. She has a slightly better winning mile rate, but her less than desirable barrier position could prove to be too much of a hurdle.
